Lonely Mrs Thackeray is constantly troubled by the neighbourhood kids when they discover she has an old dunny down the back of her garden and decide to play tricks on her. While living in Melbourne I experienced problems with kids using the street for their playground and often invading our garden for their balls and frisbees. Children at two primary schools gave me their ideas for the tricks. The tricks are funny but the kids behaviour is not. Published in 1987 by Methuen Australia. Click on the cover for a larger view.
