Tells the story of the essential messenger pigeons used by the Australian Corps of Signals Pigeon Service during World War 2 in New Guinea. The problems for the soldiers on the Kokoda Track are featured in detail. The ANZAC Day Commemoration Committee invited Vashti Farrer and myself to focus on a significant aspect of Australia's involvement during World War 2, then after the necessary research to write the fascinating story of the messenger pigeons.
