Life for a London cat changes forever when, to escape a pack of dogs he leaps from the wharf on to a sailing vessel bound for Australia. After reading a historical record that a cat was found by a sealer on King Island in Bass Strait in 1802 (in the days before European settlement) I used my imagination to write a shipwreck story.
